As an aspiring commercial driver, your first step is to pass the official North Dakota CDL General Knowledge (permit) test. This exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions based on the official North Dakota commercial driver license manual (North Dakota CDL Handbook 2025). In North Dakota’s western regions, oilfield routes and rural highways often have varying terrain. Drivers who don’t manage speed correctly on hills put themselves and other road users at risk. Controlling speed on downgrades and other aspects of commercial driving theory are explained in the official handbook. Please read its contents at least once to understand the basics. I was wanting to obtain my cdl license….
I was wanting to obtain my cdl license and i decided to read the info that the dps office tells you to download and study. It was so confusing and so much information that i was overwhelmed. My buddy told me he tried it but failed. Then he told me about Driving-Test.org. He said listen "it cost a few bucks but i promise you you'll pass". I said ok! I bought it for maybe a 100 bucks, read it and studied for 2 days straight. I went and took 2 test and aced them. I was like holy s@$!t this is the truth. Then i went the next day and aced the other 2. I didnt second guess at all. Everything thats on Driving-Test.Org is on the test. I would have never guessed it was as good as it is bc i actually ran across it before but didnt purchase it. The free one is ok but you wanna get the one you have to pay for and its like a 100 bucks n change maybe 120 but its worth it. You dont have to believe me bc i have my permit already😜 Best investment of my life.

To everyone who has failed the cdl general knowledge test. I too failed the test twice! Even after using the free tests this site offers. Although it was helpful I still failed. After purchasing, I studied for a few hours, went in the next day and passed with confidence! I would highly recommend paying for the use of this site. It will save you time, intern save you money! Please learn from my mistakes. Hope this helps.

I went and tried to take my first 2 test for the class A CDL, witch was special requirements and General knowledge I only read the handbook, I ended up failing the General knowledge. I downloaded the program studied for probably 5-6 days and aced the rest of my tests in one sitting only missing 5 out of 95! Highly recommended!

I found this website while searching through tons of sites to help practice for the CDL permit. I tried my permit test 3 times and failed, I knew i had to try something different. When i came across this site I studied one full day and felt confident enough to go take the exam the following day and I passed!

Took a class and read the manual to prepare for the written CDL-A test and didn't feel ready.
