View All PlansA Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required to legally drive straight trucks, large buses, and other commercial vehicles (such as delivery trucks) with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more. To obtain one in Ohio, you must complete the licensing process established by the BMV. You begin by submitting identification documents, paying the licensing fees, and passing a 50-question general knowledge test. If you plan to operate in non-excepted commerce, you must also pass a medical examination.
Our Ohio CDL Class B Practice Test closely reflects the content and format of the official general knowledge exam. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions based on the Ohio Commercial Driver License Manual (Ohio CDL Handbook 2025), a comprehensive resource published by the BMV.
If you have difficulty reading the text, use the slider from the test settings menu to increase the font size. Make the text bigger until it becomes easier to read and prevent eye strain and its uncomfortable symptoms. This menu also includes several features you can use to customize your testing experience. From here, you can enable the voice-over function to eliminate distractions. An artificial voice will read the questions and answer choices aloud, helping you maintain focus.
This practice test is not timed, giving you the freedom to study at your own pace. You can take minutes, hours, or even days to finish an active practice session. Your progress gets automatically saved as long as you’re not in private browsing mode (such as incognito mode in Google Chrome). All you need to access this practice test is a compatible device and a stable internet connection. Whether you’re studying at home, while traveling, or during your daily commute, you will always have the flexibility to keep learning whenever it’s more convenient for you.
As you begin your learning phase, you should not expect overnight results. Commercial driving theory cannot be learned overnight.
