- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 OH commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for September 2025
Ready to boost your CDL career in the Buckeye State? If you’re planning to operate double or triple trailer combinations, you’ll need the Doubles/Triples (T) Endorsement added to your Class A CDL. Once you’ve obtained a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) or your full CDL, you’re eligible to take the official Ohio CDL Double and Triple Trailers (T) Knowledge Test. The primary material source for this test is the most recent Ohio Commercial Driver License Manual; however, our free CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Test is your best friend for passing the exam on your first attempt. More on that in a moment.
The official test is administered by the Ohio BMV and includes 20 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you must correctly answer at least 16 questions (80%). If you don’t pass, Ohio requires a one-business-day waiting period before retaking the test, and additional fees may apply after multiple attempts.
Our Free Ohio CDL Double and Triple Trailers (T) Practice Tests go far beyond ordinary study guides. They mirror the official Ohio exam format and include hints, real-time feedback, and AI-powered tools to help you learn faster and retain more. All practice questions are derived from the Ohio CDL Manual, covering essential safety procedures including coupling and uncoupling of multiple trailers, preventing jackknife accidents and “crack-the-whip” rollovers, proper inspection protocols for all trailers, maintaining safe following distances, and brake system checks for long combination vehicles.
Obtaining your T Endorsement in Ohio opens the door to higher-paying driving jobs and specialized hauling opportunities. Major routes in Ohio include I‑70, I‑71, I‑75, and I‑80/90 (Ohio Turnpike). Large organizations such as Old Dominion, XPO Logistics, and FedEx Freight operate here.
Keep in mind, most double and triple trailer combinations use air brakes, so you’ll also need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test and perform your skills test in a CMV equipped with air brakes. Doing so removes the “L” restriction from your license. Ohio also offers endorsements, including (N) Tank Vehicle, (H) Hazardous Materials, (X) Tank/Hazmat Combo, (P) Passenger, and (S) School Bus. We’ve got practice materials to help you succeed on these knowledge tests as well!
Be sure to check out our full suite of CDL practice tests, including Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, and all other endorsements. Start practicing now and take the next step in your Ohio trucking career!
