OR CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test 3 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

Our Oregon CDL Combination Practice Test is the perfect tool to help you ace one of the major requirements for obtaining your Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This license will allow you to legally operate tractor-trailers or other large combination vehicles. Administered by the Oregon DMV, the official Combination test contains 20 multiple-choice questions, and you’ll need to answer at least 16 correctly (80%) to pass. Failing the test results in delays and added fees. Avoid that at all costs by using our series of expert-crafted practice tests!

Our Free Oregon CDL Combination Practice Tests mirror the real exam and give you instant feedback on each answer, so you’ll learn as you go. They are based on the most recent Oregon Commercial Driver Manual, so everything studied reflects current law and expectations. This is just one of our Oregon practice tests; try another here: https://driving-tests.org/oregon/or-cdl-combination-test/.

The DMV test focuses on safe driving techniques for combination vehicles, such as preventing skids and jackknives, which will come in very useful on steep mountain grades like the Siskiyou Pass. It also covers coupling and uncoupling procedures, air-brake systems used on combination vehicles, and inspection protocols. Our practice tests bring all of this content in an easy-to-learn format that saves you time and mental energy!

This is by no means the entire process for obtaining your Class A CDL license. You’ll need to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) through a provider approved by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), pass the CDL General Knowledge Exam, obtain your CLP, hold it for a minimum of 14 days, and then pass a behind-the-wheel Skills Test (in a representative combination vehicle!). Don’t worry. Our materials guide you along the way.

Because most combination vehicles use air brakes, you’ll also want to remove the “L” or “Z” restriction from your CDL. To do that, you must pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test and complete your skills test in a vehicle equipped with air brakes. We have Oregon Air Brakes Practice Tests here: https://driving-tests.org/oregon/or-cdl-air-brake-practice-test/.

Once you’ve earned your Oregon Class A CDL, you can add endorsements like (T) Doubles/Triples, (N) Tank Vehicles, (H) Hazardous Materials, or (X) Combination of Tank + HazMat. These endorsements increase your marketability with employers like FedEx, Old Dominion Freight Line, and UPS, and in major state industries like agriculture and forestry.
