To become a licensed commercial driver in the Keystone State, you must be at least 18 and hold a valid driver’s license. The Department of Transportation (DOT) oversees the licensing process and requires all applicants to pass a vision screening, score 80% or higher on the official general knowledge exam, pay the licensing fees, and submit identification documents before they can get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). Those who plan to engage in non-excepted commerce must also pass a medical exam. This examination must be done by a medical examiner listed in the FMCSA National Registry.
Once you get a CLP, you must wait 14 days before you can take the CDL skills tests. During this time, aspiring commercial drivers are highly encouraged to practice driving under the supervision of a licensed driver seated in the front passenger seat. Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) is a federal requirement set by the FMCSA. It consists of theory training and behind-the-wheel training, preparing you for your future responsibilities as a licensed commercial driver. During the licensing process, you must complete ELDT from a provider listed in the Training Provider Registry (TPR).
Our Pennsylvania CDL Class B Practice Test is an efficient tool designed to help beginners gain a strong understanding of commercial driving theory. It consists of 50 multiple-choice questions based on the official Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s Manual (Pennsylvania CDL Handbook 2025). As with the official general knowledge exam, you must score at least 80% to pass.
Available online 24/7, this practice test can be used even by students who are unskilled with computers. The simple interface is easy to navigate. You have access to a test settings menu, which lets you toggle several features. With a compatible device connected to the internet, you can train with this practice test anytime, anywhere in the world.
Start today and practice with our Pennsylvania CDL Class B Practice Test for several weeks. Improve your knowledge one question at a time and ace the official general knowledge exam on your first attempt.
