VT CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Test 2 2026
5 min
If you’re looking to increase your income potential and expand your commercial driving opportunities, earning a T Endorsement for your Vermont Class A CDL is the way to go! Earning your T Endorsement significantly enhances your CDL’s value by unlocking access to specialized, higher-paying hauls. In Vermont, major routes like I‑89, I‑91, and US‑7 represent high-volume freight corridors where skilled doubles/triples drivers are in demand. National and regional employers like FedEx Freight, Old Dominion, and XPO Logistics are always on the lookout for Vermont CDL holders with this qualification. What are you waiting for? Once you’ve secured your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) or a valid Class A CDL, you can begin the process of obtaining the Doubles/Triples Endorsement (T), which will permit you to legally operate double and triple trailer combinations.
You must pass the Vermont CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Test. The official test includes 20 multiple-choice questions, of which you must answer at least 16 correctly (80%) to pass. If you fail, the Vermont DMV requires a minimum one-business-day waiting period before retesting, and additional fees apply after multiple failed attempts.

Our Free Vermont CDL Doubles and Triples Knowledge Practice Tests are much more than just study guides. Based on the most recent Vermont Commercial Driver’s Manual, they’re designed to mirror the structure and format of the official DMV test. They also employ real-time feedback, hints, and AI-powered learning tools that boost your retention, speed learning, and help ensure your first-time success rate.
Our practice tests cover the necessary topics, including safe coupling and uncoupling procedures, avoiding rollovers and jackknifing, handling the “crack-the-whip” effect, maintaining longer following distances, and inspection requirements. We provide all you need to pass the exam on your first attempt!
Because most doubles and triples are equipped with air brakes, you’ll need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test to legally operate them. You must also (obviously) pass a skills test in a vehicle equipped with air brakes. Once both these tests are passed, your license restrictions ((L) or (Z)) limiting your use of air brakes will be removed.
Beyond the T Endorsement, Vermont CDL holders can pursue additional endorsements such as N (Tank Vehicles), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Tanker + HazMat Combo), P (Passenger), and S (School Bus). Our Vermont-specific suite of practice tests helps prepare you for them all.
