Free Vermont CDL HazMat Practice Test 2024

In Vermont, you’ll experience the steep, winding roads of the Green Mountains and the rural and forested areas that may lack adequate road infrastructure. Adding the Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement to your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) allows drivers to transport materials classified hazardous by the U.S. government. It’s an amazing way to expand your job opportunities and increase your earning potential! Transporting cargo in Vermont can be challenging, especially in the winter months when conditions impact road safety. But it’s definitely worth it for the rewards offered by this career and the additional opportunities available with the Hazmat endorsement.

In the Green Mountain State, hazardous materials transported include petroleum products (such as gasoline and heating oil), agricultural chemicals (fertilizers and pesticides), and compressed gasses (such as propane, commonly needed in rural and industrial areas). Some major organizations in Vermont, such as GlobalFoundries in Essex Junction (which uses hazardous materials in the production of semiconductors), Cota & Cota in Bellows Falls (a fuel and propane distributor), and Dead River Company in White River Junction (specializing in propane and oil delivery across Vermont) are just a few of the organizations that require Hazmat drivers.

There are two major steps needed to obtain the Hazmat endorsement. The first is the mandatory fingerprinting and background check conducted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Don’t delay this particular step because the results from TSA can take weeks. You should use that time efficiently to study and practice for the second step, the DMV knowledge test. This test covers federal regulations, substance handling, packaging, quantity limits, and transport configurations for hazardous materials. With a score of 80% on Vermont’s 30-question knowledge test, you will pass the test (Vermont CDL Handbook 2024).

The good news is we’ve streamlined this process for you. Our Vermont DMV Hazmat Endorsement practice tests are designed to avoid much of the unneeded fluff you’ll find online. Additionally, our practice tests resemble what you will face on the official DMV test. You’ll receive immediate feedback on each response without being bombarded with corrections at the end. Once you receive your TSA results and feel prepared, you’ll visit the DMV with the necessary documents, pay the fees, and pass the test.
