Anyone who wants to become a commercial driver in Washington State must first meet the requirements for a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). Applicants must be at least 18 to drive within the state and at least 21 to drive across state lines, transport passengers, or transport hazardous materials. To obtain a CLP, you must pass a vision screening, provide identification documents, and pay the necessary fees. Unless you will only be engaged in excepted commerce, you must also take a medical exam.

The official general knowledge exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions to evaluate your understanding of commercial driving theory. These questions are based on the Washington Commercial Driver Guide (Washington CDL Handbook 2025), an official resource published by the DOL. You must score 80% or higher to pass.

Started on Wednesday afternoon @ 4:12pm and aced all tests.
Aced my Class A CDL General Knowledge, Airbrakes, Combination, and Double &Triples tests @ 2:05pm on Thursday! I never even cracked the book, and I've never had a CDL before. The tests at the Washington State DOL were almost verbatim with the driving-tests.org ones!

Awesome product.
Awesome product and was just what I needed to pass all 3 CDL exams on the first time. Use it as directed and it works.

All I can say is..
WOW! I felt Very prepared for my CDL tests. I love the explanations given if you get a question wrong. I also Love the test bank of missed questions. I passed ALL 5 tests in 1 day! A couple of things that would greatly improve the program is 1. After the explanation, provide where it can be found, based on the states testing guide. 2. Having a broader base of questions. Some seemed to repeat themselves. 3. Providing a supplement for chapter 11 (pre inspection) as far as pictures for each of the 7 parts, with labels and testing that also has labeling.

All the questions on Driving-Test.Org are very useful..
From the time I decided to acquire my CDL Class A, it was the only source I consulted and studied. I tested for General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles, Air Brakes, and Doubles and Triples and passed all at one time. Secondly, it took me just 1 day to study and pass my HAMZAT. This website is really excellent and I recommend them to everyone Stanley

Give them a try! A decision you won't regret.
I had a great experience, straight forward and easy to understand content. I studied the course for Hazmat, Tankers, Doubles and Triples and while I aced both Hazmat and Tankers with a 100%, the questions I missed in my actual test for doubles and triples was because I didn't stop to analyze the questions before submitting my answers. Don't do like me and sleep on it, this is a decision you won't regret.

About the Washington CDL

To obtain a Class A CDL, you must also pass the official combination vehicles knowledge test. This exam covers key topics such as coupling and uncoupling procedures, pre-trip inspections specific to combination vehicles, and safe driving practices. You must pass this exam to get your CLP and qualify for the CDL skills tests. Since most trucks in the Evergreen State are equipped with air brakes, you must also pass the official air brakes knowledge tests to drive them.
