- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 WA commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
Ready to expand your CDL opportunities across Washington and the Pacific Northwest? Earning a T Endorsement is a brilliant idea for Washington-based drivers looking to raise their earning potential. Transporting goods along I‑5 from Seattle to Portland, routes through Spokane and the Tri-Cities, or the snow-covered hills of Snowqualmie Pass, you’ll face a diverse set of challenges and scenery, and this endorsement can help you qualify for higher-paying jobs.
To obtain the T Endorsement, you must pass the Washington Double/Triple Trailers (T) Endorsement Knowledge Test, which is based on the state’s most recent CDL Manual. This official test is administered by the Washington DOL and includes 20 multiple-choice questions. You must answer at least 16 correctly (80%) to pass. If you don’t pass, you must wait at least one business day to retest with additional fees kicking in after three failed attempts.
With only four incorrect answers allowed, there isn’t a lot of room for error. Our Washington-specific Double/Triple Trailers (T) Endorsement Practice Tests are designed to mirror the format of the official DOL test. They feature real-time feedback, hints, and AI-powered learning tools to speed learning and dramatically improve retention.
The test covers safety topics the Washington CDL Manual, including coupling and uncoupling techniques, prevention of jackknifing, rollovers, and the “crack-the-whip” effect, inspection protocols for multiple trailers, and safe braking and following distances for combination vehicles.
Washington’s T Endorsement isn’t just a credential, it’s a career boost. Top employers like Old Dominion, FedEx Freight, and XPO Logistics regularly hire drivers with doubles/triples qualifications. And with major roadways like I‑90, I‑5, and I‑82 running through the state, the opportunities are substantial.
Most double/triple trailer combinations use air brake systems, so to operate them legally, you must also pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test. Failing to do so will result in a restriction code (“L” or “Z”) on your CDL, prohibiting you from driving air brake-equipped vehicles (and, consequently, doubles and triples!).
Need more than just the T Endorsement? Our site offers full Washington CDL Practice Tests for other endorsements too, such as N (Tank Vehicles), H (Hazardous Materials), X (Tank + Hazmat Combo), P (Passenger Vehicles), and S (School Buses). We have you covered!
Be sure to check out our other doubles/triples practice test as well as all of our Washington-specific endorsement practice tests and raise your driving career to Mt. Rainier-level heights!
