- Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements
- Based on 2025 AK commercial driver's license manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for August 2025
To legally operate double or triple trailer combinations in Alaska, you must pass the Double/Triple Trailers Knowledge Test, a step that will add the T Endorsement to your Class A CDL. The exam includes 20 multiple-choice questions, and you must score 80% or higher (at least 16 correct answers) to pass. If you fail, the Alaska DMV mandates a one-business-day waiting period before retesting, and a fee if you exceed three attempts.
Our Free Alaska CDL Doubles/Triples Practice Tests are designed to help you pass on your first try. Mimicking the official exam format, our practice tests include real-time feedback and hints for each question and AI tools to improve retention and speed the learning process. Going well beyond traditional study guides found elsewhere, our enhanced features help to ensure first-time success.
Our practice questions are aligned with the latest Alaska CDL Manual and focus on safety concepts (gentle steering!) while handling long trailer combinations (such as avoiding the “crack-the-whip” effect), coupling/uncoupling trailers, preventing rollovers and jackknifing, braking techniques and following distances, and inspections and trailer checks.
Getting your T Endorsement opens doors to higher-pay and vastly increased job eligibility. In Alaska, major roadways like Glenn Highway, Parks Highway, and Alaska Route 1, as well as career opportunities in hubs like Anchorage, Fairbanks, Wasilla, and Kenai, provide the infrastructure for a lucrative driving career, once all CDL restrictions are lifted and certifications are in place. Major employers, such as Lynden Transport, Carlile, and FedEx Ground, often require the T endorsement. Whether you’re hauling cargo under the Northern Lights or on snowy passes, the T endorsement is your key to more lucrative adventures!
To further expand your career opportunities, consider earning endorsements for Tanker (N), Hazardous Materials (H), or the X Combo. You can also earn the (P) endorsement, which permits you to drive in public transit and for school systems. Each requires its own exam, and we offer Alaska-specific practice tests for each.
Most doubles/triples use air brakes, so be sure to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test and a skills test, in a vehicle with air brakes, to remove “L” or “Z” restrictions from your CDL. We provide dedicated Air Brakes Practice Tests for Alaska’s drivers, too!
This is one of two tests in our Alaska CDL Doubles/Triples suite. Explore our entire selection of CDL air brakes tests, combination vehicles tests, and endorsement practice tests for tankers, hazmat, passengers, and school buses!
