You may renew in person at the nearest licensing center or designated satellite city hall.

Note that you may renew 6 months before the license expiration date and have a grace period of 90 days after the license expiration date without penalty. A reactivation fee of $5 per 30 days or fraction thereof will be assessed after the 90 days.

By Mail

You may renew a regular Class 3 license (not a Limited Purpose license) by mail if it is currently not expired. You can renew by mail up to two times in a row. The next time, you must renew in person. (Also, before you try to renew by mail in Kauai, contact the Kauai Driver’s License Division at (808) 241-4256 to make sure that you are eligible to renew by mail in Kauai.)

  3. Receive your renewal packet by mail.

  4. Fill out and submit the renewal packet. Follow the instructions and complete all the forms in the packet.
