If you’re looking to add the Doubles/Triples (“T”) endorsement to your Connecticut CDL, you’re making a smart move to expand your employment opportunities. This endorsement allows you to drive commercial vehicles pulling two or three trailers on public roads. Federal laws permit Longer Combination Vehicles (LCVs). However, Connecticut does not allow triple-trailer configurations, so you may only pull double trailers.
To obtain this endorsement, you must pass a -question knowledge exam with a score of 80% or higher. There’s no skills test required, making the process easier than for many other endorsements. Your knowledge of preventing trailer rollovers, safe driving practices for double and triple configurations, space management, and commercial regulations will be evaluated at a DMV location.
