Double-trailer trucks are restricted to certain routes in the Bay State. You’ll often see them on highways like I-90, going from the New York state line up to the interchange with I-95 near Weston. Beyond that point, access becomes highly restricted. Triple trailers are not allowed in Massachusetts at all, but adding the Double/Triple (“T”) endorsement to your Class A CDL will allow you to drive such configurations in states where it is legal to do so.
To obtain this certification, you must pay the endorsement fees and pass a -question knowledge exam on the safe operation of Longer Combination Vehicles (LCVs). The official Commercial Driver’s License Manual (Massachusetts CDL Handbook 2026) includes more information on this topic. Section 7 (Doubles and Triples) will teach you parking techniques, space management, and how to prevent trailer sway. Read this section multiple times, and when you’re ready, you can use our practice tests to evaluate your knowledge.

Aspiring commercial drivers in Massachusetts completed 5,266 practice sessions this week. Our practice tests add flexibility to your learning process, and they help you achieve a passing score on your first attempt. Before you take this fourth Massachusetts CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Test, you should optimize your study environment, ensure you have a stable internet connection, and eliminate distractions.
All questions on this practice test are similar to those you will get on exam day. Each question has multiple answer choices, but only one is correct. A detailed explanation will be provided immediately after you select an answer. Please pay attention to this feedback and note it in a notebook or notebook app before you proceed to the next question.
Keep track of your scores and watch your performance naturally improve with each session you complete. Once you consistently obtain scores above 80% on this practice test, you can consider taking the official Double/Triple Trailers Knowledge Exam at a RMV office. If you haven’t yet obtained a Class A CDL, you should also incorporate our Free Massachusetts CDL Permit Practice Test into your study routine.
