New Jersey residents, are you tired of spinning your wheels and not going anywhere? That’s no way to get ahead! You should shift gears and get on your way to becoming a commercial Passenger Vehicle driver. More than a job, this career lays a solid foundation for skill development and practical public relations experience. These skills open the door for you to provide an essential public service and gain experience for advancing your career opportunities. Even better, these jobs do not confine you to a desk, and they provide a great sense of personal freedom.
Based on the official NJ CDL HandbookHandbook‑based (2025) + exam‑taker feedback
Let’s get you up to speed on getting prepared to secure your place in the commercial Passenger Vehicle driver job market. First, you are going to need to obtain a “P” endorsement on your Class A, B, or C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This endorsement allows you to drive a vehicle designed to carry 16 or more people, including the driver. These types of vehicles often serve industries such as public transportation, private coach services, healthcare, and education (with a School Bus endorsement). The licensing process involves successfully passing a written knowledge test and a road skills test.
The written knowledge test pertains to your understanding of Driving Safely, Transporting Passengers Safely, Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection, and Basic Vehicle Control Skills.
To get you on the road to your new career, you will need to answer 80% of the 20 questions on the written knowledge test correctly. The best way to prepare for success is using our free New Jersey CDL Passenger Vehicle Endorsement practice test based on the 2025 CDL Manual (New Jersey CDL Handbook 2025) and is up to date as of December 2025. Forget about outdated study guides! Our test is interactive and contains questions like the official test. Any questions that you get wrong are explained in detail so that you can make a connection between the question asked and the correct answer.
Pro-Tip: If you feel that you were born to run on Highway 9, what is the best way there but getting on track to be a Passenger Vehicle CDL driver? Our CDL Passenger guide, on-line resources, and handbooks can fuel your journey and set you up to succeed.
