Longer Combination Vehicles (LCVs) are combination vehicles consisting of a tractor and two or three trailers. You’ll need a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a Double/Triple (“T”) endorsement to legally operate them. In Vermont, the DMV oversees the licensing process and requires all applicants to pass a -question knowledge exam before they can add this endorsement to their CDL.
The official Double/Triple Trailers Knowledge Test covers topics found in Section 7 (Doubles and Triples) of the official Commercial Driver’s Manual (Vermont CDL Handbook 2026). We recommend reading this manual at least once in your learning journey.
Our Vermont CDL Double/Triple Trailers Practice Tests are available online, 24/7. When used regularly, they can help you pass the official Double/Triple Trailers Knowledge Exam on your first attempt. You’re about to take the fourth practice test in this series. On average, it takes around 5 minutes to complete. However, we highly advise against rushing. We have omitted any timer from this practice test, giving you the flexibility to study at your own pace.
If you have difficulty reading the small text, you can use the slider from the test settings menu to increase the font size. Digital eye strain often occurs during longer study sessions, which is why we recommend taking frequent breaks. If you must interrupt an active practice session, you can resume it later from the last question you answered. As long as you’re not in private browsing mode, your progress will be automatically saved.
Students unfamiliar with double- and triple-trailer configurations can use this practice test for educational purposes. A detailed explanation is provided for each question, helping you understand the reasoning behind the correct answers. This feedback helps you build a strong foundation for your driving skills. You can also initiate a conversation with our automated assistant to receive personalized answers to your individual questions.
If you haven’t yet obtained a Class A CDL, our Free Vermont CDL Permit Practice Test should not be missing from your toolkit. Use it to master general commercial driving theory and secure your future as a commercial driver in the Green Mountain State.
