  • Updated for September 2025

Are you an Alabama resident considering a career as a bus driver or the driver of a 15-passenger van? These jobs offer the opportunity to work with fun and interesting people and the sense of freedom that comes from being on the open road. If you’re ready for such a change, you’re going to need a plan. The first thing you will need is a Class A, B, or C Alabama CDL. Opportunities are awaiting, but you need to properly prepare yourself to succeed in getting a license to work.

A “P” endorsement is required on a Alabama CDL to operate a vehicle that can carry 16 or more people, including the driver. Applicants must pass both a written and a road skills test in a passenger-carrying vehicle to obtain this endorsement. The written test contains 20 questions, divided into four sections: Driving Safely, Transporting Passengers, Pre-Trip Inspection, and Basic Control Skills. Successful applicants must answer 16 of the 20 (80%) questions correctly to receive a passing score.

Using this free Alabama CDL Passenger Vehicle Endorsement practice test based on the official CDL Manual (Alabama CDL Handbook 2025), you will greatly increase your chance of passing the actual test on your first try. This practice test is much better for test preparation than any study guide. The test is presented in a multiple-choice format and contains questions like those on the actual test and is up to date as of (current-month-full) (current-year). It is stress-free because it allows you to learn at your own pace. Additionally, it gives you immediate feedback on your answer to each question. Wrong answers are highlighted with detailed explanations. Our Alabama CDL Passenger Vehicle practice test is the most valuable resource you’ll find in preparing you to get licensed.

Pro Tip: There are multiple resources available to you while taking our practice test. You will find on-line resources, handbooks, and our CDL Passenger guide. Although it is not allowed to be used during the written exam, you can use it to look for correct answers and make a link between the information and the question asked.

Additionally, you may refer to our targeted endorsement practice test collection which includes multiple tests for all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
