Prepare for the official Mississippi DMV motorcycle knowledge exam with our practice tests and increase the chances of passing on your first attempt. Our Mississippi motorcycle permit practice tests will help you build the confidence necessary to overcome the first challenge of the licensing process. Each practice test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions based on the official DMV motorcycle operator manual (Mississippi Motorcycle Manual). To pass, you must score at least 80%, but we recommend ignoring your score during your first few attempts.

Many students struggle with eye strain during their learning phase. Reading text that is too small can lead to discomfort and reduced focus. Increase the font size by using the adjustable slider on the left side of the page. Make the text bigger until it becomes easier to read at an arm’s length distance from the screen. Remember to take frequent breaks while you practice with this tool. Get up from your desk and do some light exercises. Rest your eyes and prepare for the next session with a refreshed mind. Our Mississippi motorcycle permit practice tests are available 24/7, and you can access them on any device that supports a browser and has an active internet connection. If you are often anxious under the pressure of a countdown, you’ll be pleased to learn that we have omitted any timer from this tool.

Enable the answer popularity function from the "Test settings" menu to gain insight into the performance of other students. Receive feedback on the most common choices and identify areas where others have struggled. Pay attention to these difficult questions and memorize the correct answer. Remember that studying the various aspects of riding theory is not a competition. Learn at your own pace and dedicate as much time as you need to master this subject. The freedom of riding your favorite motorcycle on Mississippi’s roads is worth the effort you put into building the foundation for your riding skills.

Mississippi motorcycle rules to know

Rules that are specific to Mississippi or often differ from other states

Helmet rule

Mississippi law requires both the motorcycle rider (operator) and any motorcycle passenger to wear a helmet that is compliant with requirements specified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Eye protection rule

Although Mississippi law does not require it, you should wear protective eyewear at all times while riding, even if the motorcycle has a windshield. A windshield is NOT a substitute for a face shield or goggles.

Permit or endorsement rule

While you hold a motorcycle learner's permit, your operation of a motorcycle is restricted as follows: You may not ride a motorcycle, unsupervised by a licensed adult motorcyclist.

Lane splitting or filtering

Mississippi law doesn't allow you to ride between two cars (lane splitting). It doesn't state whether you are allowed to share a lane with another motorcycle (pair up).
