To legally ride motorcycles in Alabama, you must obtain a motorcycle license. If you already possess a driver’s license, you simply add the “M” endorsement. Otherwise, you must obtain a Class M license to legally ride motorcycles in the Yellowhammer State. You must be at least 16 years old to qualify. Once you arrive at the DMV office, you must provide a Social Security card and identification documents, and pass a vision screening. If you are under 19, you must also provide proof of school enrollment or graduation. If you are under 17, you must also obtain consent from your parent or guardian.
The official Motorcycle Knowledge Exam includes 30 questions based on the official Motorcycle Operator Manual (Alabama Motorcycle Manual). You must score 80% or higher to pass, leaving little room for error. Topics include braking, lane positioning, and safety gear. To help you achieve a passing score on your first attempt, we provide you with access to our Alabama DMV Motorcycle Practice Tests. You’re about to take the second practice test in this series, which includes questions similar to those you will encounter on exam day.
Located in the top-right corner of the page, the test settings menu includes various features. Once activated, the voice-over function will use an artificial voice to read the questions and answer choices aloud. Students with auditory memory can benefit from this feature, as they retain information better through hearing. You will receive immediate feedback on each of your answers. Please pay attention to the detailed explanations and note them in a notebook or notebook app.
All applicants must demonstrate their ability to control a motorcycle. During the skills test, you will perform maneuvers like sharp turns, quick stops, and obstacle swerving. If you complete a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider Course, both the official written knowledge and skills tests become optional.
