To legally ride motorcycles in the Bay State, you must add a motorcycle endorsement (M) to your Class D license. Start by studying the Motorcycle Manual (Massachusetts Motorcycle Manual), an official resource published by the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV). All aspiring riders must pass a 25-question knowledge exam. This test will evaluate your understanding of riding theory. It has a minimum passing score of 72%.
In addition to theory and skills testing, aspiring riders are required to pass a standard vision screening, provide identification documents, and pay the licensing fees. The completion of an approved Massachusetts Rider Training Program (MTRP) course will waive the skills test but not the knowledge test. If you skip this step, you must pass an on-cycle skills exam at the RMV.
We’ll help you with the theory part of the licensing process by providing you with access to an efficient tool. This Massachusetts RMV Motorcycle Permit Practice Test is the third of five we offer. When used regularly, it can significantly boost your learning potential. You will answer questions similar to those on the official Motorcycle Knowledge Exam. To support your learning, we have omitted any timer from this practice test. Take as long as you need to finish your training sessions and learn riding theory at your own pace.
Customize your testing experience with the test settings menu. Located in the top-right corner of the page, this menu includes several features. The voice-over function is especially useful for students with auditory memory. An artificial voice will read the questions and answer choices aloud, giving you the flexibility to master the material in a way that works for you. You can also enable ambient music and answer popularity from the test settings menu.
