The Tunnel of Trees is one of the most scenic rides in the Great Lakes State. This route runs from Harbor Springs to Cross Village along Lake Michigan, taking you through a dense canopy of trees that creates a tunnel effect. It has a low speed limit, which encourages a relaxed and comfortable pace. Most experienced riders can easily negotiate its 135 curves, but beginners should ride cautiously.

Before you can explore this route on two wheels, you must complete the licensing process and add a motorcycle endorsement (M) to your driver’s license. Aspiring riders must pass a 20-question knowledge exam and meet several other requirements as part of the licensing process. We’ll help you ace this exam on your first attempt, but you must put in the time and effort to master riding theory.

Our Michigan SOS Motorcycle Permit Practice Tests will help you become a safe and responsible rider. Each practice test in this series includes questions similar to those you will get at the SOS office. Before you take this third practice test, you should continue reading this introduction to discover all the features available.

Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the page to open the test settings menu. This menu gives you access to answer popularity, the voice-over function, ambient music, and a slider that lets you change the font size. You can also use the "Shift + ?" key combination to answer questions, toggle features, and control this practice test with your keyboard.

This practice test and the official Motorcycle Knowledge Exam are based on the latest version of the official Motorcycle Operator Manual (Michigan Motorcycle Manual). This resource should not be missing from your toolkit. We recommend reading this handbook multiple times during your learning phase, focusing especially on the sections you find difficult to understand. During your training sessions, you can initiate a conversation with "Officer Frank." This automated assistant can explain complex topics using simple language, making it easier for you to master riding theory.

You can use our Michigan SOS Motorcycle Permit Practice Test to evaluate your knowledge before exam day. Once you consistently achieve passing scores, consider taking the official Motorcycle Knowledge Test. Good luck!
