Pennsylvania’s Route 6 is one of the most underrated rides in the country. It stretches across the entire northern part of the state, running nearly 400 miles from the Ohio border all the way east to Milford before crossing into New York. The road earned the nickname "Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon Highway" for the stretch near Pine Creek Gorge, where the terrain drops into a valley. It’s the kind of scenery you’d expect to find in Colorado, not in the Northeast.
Route 6 has a lot to offer. Before you discover it on your favorite motorcycle, it’s crucial to master riding theory and complete the licensing process. In Pennsylvania, all aspiring riders must pass the official Motorcycle Knowledge Exam and meet several other requirements. This test includes 20 questions based on the latest version of the official Motorcycle Operator Manual (Pennsylvania Motorcycle Manual). Each question has multiple answer choices, but only one is correct.
