KY CDL Combination Vehicles Practice Test 3 2025

  • Perfect for first-time and renewal CDL/CLP applicants, and those adding endorsements.

In Kentucky, earning your Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) requires a few major steps, including passing the Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test. Additionally, you’ll need to complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) through a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry (TPR). You must then take the CDL General Knowledge Test to obtain your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). You’ll need to hold that permit for at least 14 days before you are eligible to take the behind-the-wheel Skills Test in a representative combination vehicle. A lot of steps, to be sure. However, the Class A license is worth the effort, and our experts have created practice tests to help you along the way.

The official Kentucky Combination Vehicles Knowledge Test has 20 multiple-choice questions, and you must answer at least 16 correctly (80%) to pass. If you don’t, you’ll have to wait at least one business day and pay a retest fee before trying again. Our Free Kentucky CDL Combination Practice Tests replicate the format and topics of the real exam, complete with real-time feedback and hints so you can learn as you go. You’ll cover essential subjects like safe-driving practices for combination vehicles, combination vehicle air-brake systems, coupling and uncoupling techniques, inspection procedures, and preventing trailer skids and jackknives. Once you’ve aced this practice test, try another here: https://driving-tests.org/kentucky/ky-cdl-combination-test/.

Because most combination vehicles use air brakes, you’ll also need to pass the Air Brakes Knowledge Test and the associated skills test. Try our practice tests for this as well: https://driving-tests.org/kentucky/ky-cdl-air-brake-practice-test/.

To further expand your career options, consider adding these endorsements: (T) Doubles/Triples, (N) Tank Vehicles, (H) Hazardous Materials, or (X) Tank + HazMat Combo. Check out one of our Hazardous Materials Practice Tests here: https://driving-tests.org/kentucky/ky-cdl-hazmat-practice-test/. Each endorsement increases your employability and potentially your paycheck!

Major highways like I-64, I-65, I-71, and I-75 link Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, and Cincinnati to major employers such as Averitt Express, UPS, and regional logistics carriers. A Class A CDL driver is heavily sought after in Kentucky, and this license type puts you ahead of others in overall marketability.

With our Kentucky-specific practice tests, you’ll have everything you need to pass on the first attempt. Get started today and put yourself in the driver’s seat of Kentucky’s best-paying trucking gigs.
