When you’re driving past the saguaros with your boots on and a bola tie flapping in the breeze, you’ll be glad you studied up on your Arizona driver’s exam. Once you’re 15 ½ in Arizona, you can take a written knowledge test to get your permit and start the graduated driver’s license process. The written test is based on the 2023 Arizona Driver License Manual and has 30 multiple-choice questions; in order to pass it and receive your permit, you’ll need to score an 80% or better, pass a vision test, provide two forms of identification, prove parental consent if you’re still a minor, and pay a $7 permit fee. Your license fee, once you move onto your graduated license, will be $25. The knowledge test will be administered on a touchscreen computer at your local MVD office or can be provided in an oral format or in a foreign language, if required. The $7 permit fee will cover three attempts to pass your exam within a one-year period. Think you’re ready to take on the touchscreen at the MVD? Take our test simulator to find out. No more coddling, hints, or explanations. This is the pure test without any distractions. Have trouble? Maybe go back and study up with us a little more so that when the real test comes you’ll have the chance to head out of the MVD with a new license.
