- Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and Senior Refresher Test
- Based on official Arkansas Driver's manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for July 2025
Arkansas employs a Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) program to ensure new drivers gain experience gradually. You can get a learner’s license by passing a vision screening and the official written knowledge exam. This license lets you drive on public roads under the supervision of a licensed adult aged 21 or older in the front passenger seat. The learner’s license remains valid until you turn 16, at which point you can move on to an intermediate license. Applicants 18 and older can apply directly for a regular Class D license. They must pass both the written knowledge and road skills tests. Holding a learner’s or intermediate license is not required for adults, but obtaining an instruction permit is necessary to practice driving before the road test.
The Arkansas Driver License Study Guide (Arkansas DMV Handbook (AR Driver's Manual) 2025) is an official resource published by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). As you begin your learning phase, you should read the contents of this handbook several times. You will learn the most important aspects of driving theory, including Arkansas’s laws, rules and regulations, and safe driving practices. While this manual has enough information to help you pass the official written knowledge exam, our Arkansas Driver’s Handbook Practice Test can double your chances. When used regularly, this intuitive tool can significantly boost your learning potential.
The questions you get wrong will be automatically forwarded to your personal Challenge Bank™. Please visit this section to learn from your mistakes and identify areas that need improvement. Questions in your Challenge Bank will remain there until you answer them correctly. With repetition, you can learn even the most complex topics. Consistency is key during your learning phase. You shouldn’t expect overnight results, as driving is a lifelong skill, and your knowledge can only be improved gradually. Practice with this intuitive tool daily, as often as your schedule allows. With unlimited attempts and 24/7 access, you can master driving theory within a few weeks.
