IL DMV Test Simulator: Exam Mode 2019

IL DMV driver's license
Illinois DMV Driver's License.

While there are 35 questions on the Illinois written knowledge test, you’ll only be able to miss seven before you fail and are required to retake the exam on another day. Questions will be in multiple-choice format and based on information from the 2019 Illinois Rules of the Road, and you are only allowed three attempts to pass within one year. When you’re ready to take the knowledge test for your instruction permit or driver’s license, you’ll want to study using this SOS practice test in Exam Mode. It is the closest simulation to taking the real exam, as hints and explanations are disabled and the test will stop once you have answered too many questions incorrectly. You can take this simulated exam as many times as necessary, until you feel confident and comfortable about taking the real exam. If you’re ready to take your test, you’ll need to bring along the $20 for your permit, or $2-30 for your license depending on your age, and proof of identity, residence, and signature.
