In Kentucky, you must pass the KSP Permit Test to get your driver’s license. The test is based on the 2026 Kentucky Driver’s Handbook (2026 Kentucky Driver’s Handbook) and includes multiple-choice questions similar to those on the real DMV test.

The Kentucky KSP written test has 40 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you need at least 32 correct (80%).

This is our second Kentucky Permit Practice Test, current for May 2026 and based on the official Kentucky Driver’s Handbook. Each question has four answer options – choose the best one. Optional hints can help with tougher questions (the real test has no hints).

Read the explanations carefully after any mistakes. You can retake the test as often as you want; questions will be randomized each time.

How to use Kentucky Test 2

Treat this as a second read, not a repeat of the first practice test.

1

Start with Vehicle Equipment

This is one of the main areas in this test pool, so review the rule before another scored attempt.

2

Use fresh wording for KY rules

Test 2 changes the question mix so you can separate understanding from memorized answers.

3

Move to Test 3 after repeat misses drop

Use Test 3 to confirm that vehicle equipment plus sharing the road no longer pull your score down.
