- Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and Senior Refresher Test
- Based on official Kentucky Driver's manual
- Triple-checked for accuracy
- Updated for July 2025
Kentucky has one of the most extensive highway systems in the United States, with over 79,000 miles of public roads. This network includes interstate highways such as I-64 and I-75, which connect key cities like Louisville, Lexington and Bowling Green. The eastern part of the state features winding and narrow roads that go through the Appalachian Mountains, where poor weather conditions can create a difficult challenge even for the most experienced drivers.
If the unpredictable weather is not threatening their journey, drivers are often enthralled by the scenic routes of the Bluegrass State. Red River Gorge Scenic Byway, the Wilderness Road Heritage Highway and the Country Music Highway are some of the routes every Kentucky resident must drive at least once in their life. Highlighting natural and cultural attractions, these routes make for unforgettable road trips.
Along with the beautiful landscape, drivers will also notice road signs — and there are plenty of them. While your passengers take in the sights and capture the moment with their cameras, your duty is to pay attention to the road ahead and heed every road sign you encounter. In Kentucky, driver’s licenses are issued by the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office of your county. This process involves taking a vision test, a written knowledge test and a road skills test.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) driver’s handbook (Kentucky DMV Handbook (KY Driver's Manual) 2025) contains essential information for obtaining a driver’s license, including a general overview of the most common road signs. Your knowledge of these signs will be tested during the official written test, so you should prepare in advance and memorize each sign presented in the manual.
To make it easier for you to learn, we offer several Kentucky KSP Road Sign practice tests. Consisting of 25 questions, these tests are designed to significantly boost your learning journey. Each question displays the image of a road sign along with multiple answer options, with only one of them being correct. Unlike the official written exam, our practice tests are not timed, allowing you to take as long as you need before making a choice.
