Free Minnesota DVS Road Signs Permit Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and senior refresher test

Road signs are everywhere. They tell us when to stop, when to go, how fast we can drive, and what to expect ahead. As a new driver in Minnesota, understanding road signs may seem overwhelming at first. However, memorizing them becomes easier once you adopt a smarter approach.

The Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) division issues the official driver’s handbook (Minnesota DMV Handbook (MN Driver's Manual) 2025). This comprehensive guide has been designed to help new drivers understand traffic laws, safe vehicle operation, handling various driving conditions, and obeying the rules of the road. The driver’s handbook also presents some of the most common road signs you’ll encounter on Minnesota’s roads. It is your responsibility to memorize them since a significant portion of the official written knowledge test is about road signs.

Use our Minnesota Road Signs practice tests during your learning phase to evaluate your understanding of these road signs. Each practice test consists of 25 questions, and to pass, you’ll need to score at least 80%. If you find the text too small or you wish to change the language, look for the “Test settings” menu at the top-left corner of this page. From here, you can also activate the voice-over and answer popularity features as well as a detailed list of keyboard shortcuts.

Detailed explanation is provided after every question, allowing you to identify your mistakes before finishing the test. Since we have omitted a timer from our practice tests, you can take as long as you need to fully understand the answer to each question before proceeding to the next one. During each training session, our helpful AI coach can provide useful insight. Stuck on a difficult question displaying an unfamiliar sign? Ask for a hint that will nudge you in the right direction without revealing the correct answer.

To maximize your chances of passing the written knowledge test on your first attempt, we recommend starting your training sessions several weeks in advance. Use our Road Signs practice tests on a daily basis, and with repetition, you’ll develop a better understanding of road signs and their real-life applications.

We know how Driver's Ed goes

The material is dry. Studying it is tedious. And you don't want to step foot inside the DMV. So you dread it, avoid it, pretend it doesn't exist. Or you go to the DMV and shoot your shot. You walk in. Take a number. Then the number takes your soul.

Noses sneeze. Babies cry. Frustration groans. And when it's finally time to take your test, you're sweating. Thirty minutes later, you're crying. Because despite your best efforts. You failed. Next thing you know, you're chasing a Waymo in circles to get home (embarrassing!).
That ends here.
At Driving Tests, we know emotions can get in the way of doing what you need to do. So we deliver Driver's Ed that makes it easy to start, and even easier to finish. We get you DMV Smart ASAP. Testing you with real, up-to-date questions. Backing up tricky driving situations with easy-to-grasp visuals & engaging practice tests that reaffirm what you know, and test you again on what you don't.
