In New Hampshire, if a police officer observes you driving with an open container of an alcoholic beverage on the front passenger seat, will your license be suspended, and if so, for how long? If you refuse to submit to chemical testing, how long will your license be suspended? If you are convicted of driving while intoxicated (DWI), what penalties may you face? Will you have to go to jail?
These and other issues related to traffic offenses are addressed in this free New Hampshire Fines and Limits permit practice test.
This test also addresses the penalties for driving while in possession of a controlled drug; the rules on purchasing liability insurance for your car; the number of points added to your driving record for such common violations as speeding, running a red light, and failing to signal a turn; and the number of points on your driving record that can cause your license to be suspended.
The New Hampshire Driver’s Manual contains everything a new driver needs to know to stay out of trouble and maintain their driving privileges. Our New Hampshire Fines and Limits permit practice test is the perfect tool to test your knowledge of the consequences of traffic offenses in the state. Each of the test’s 50 questions and answers follows the same format as those in the five other New Hampshire practice tests on Driving-Tests.org. An optional hint and a simple explanation of the correct answer will help you answer these practice test questions correctly.

In the United States, about 37 people die in alcohol-related crashes every day. That works out to about one fatality every 39 minutes. About 28 percent of all traffic deaths involve alcohol-impaired drivers. In 2022, there were 5.93 million traffic crashes – an average of one crash every five seconds. 13,524 people died in traffic crashes in which alcohol consumption was a contributing factor.
In New Hampshire in 2022, there were 4,014 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 646 (16.1 percent) of those arrested were under 25 years of age. That same year, there were 146 traffic fatalities, including 16 pedestrian fatalities. 52 of the fatalities were alcohol related (with a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit), and 53 fatalities were speeding related.
Practicing with this New Hampshire Fines and Limits permit practice test should help you pass the official knowledge exam. Plus, the questions and answers on this practice test show that violating the traffic laws can have very serious consequences.
