If you don’t need or want a New Hampshire driver’s license, that’s perfectly OK with us. But what if you do? If you’ve never driven before, obtaining a driver’s license will take you some time and effort. Fortunately, we can help. Our practice tests and other tools will get you started on the road (pun intended) to a driver’s license. These tools will help you pass the official DMV knowledge test on your first try. This is one of our tools: our New Hampshire Permit Practice Test. Like our other practice tests, it’s designed to help aspiring drivers like you pass the DMV knowledge test. Like the official knowledge test, this practice test is based on the official New Hampshire driver’s manual (New Hampshire DMV Handbook (NH Driver's Manual) 2025). All questions on this practice test are multiple choice. You must choose the best or most complete answer for each question.

This practice test includes questions on changing lanes, driving emergencies, intersections, passing and being passed, pavement markings, right-of-way rules, and road signs.

If you get stuck on a question, ask our AI Assistant to elaborate or give you a hint. You can also ask it your own questions about driving. If you still miss the question, the AI Assistant will give you the correct answer and an explanation. Not satisfied with your final score? You can retake this practice test as often as you wish until you master the material. Each time, the order of the questions will be randomized.

About the New Hampshire learner permit

Do you wish you could get a PDF list of the exact questions (with answers) you’ll encounter on your official knowledge test? Unfortunately, that’s something we can’t give you. To create a knowledge test, the DMV draws questions randomly from a huge pool of candidate questions, so we can’t predict the specific questions they’ll draw for you. However, our practice test questions have proven similar to the official knowledge test questions we know they’ve used. In addition, we have two PDF “cheat sheets” (not for actual cheating, though!) for you: “The Top 100 Most Common US DMV Questions” and “The 121 Most Common US Road Signs Questions.” You will probably encounter some of these questions on your official knowledge test. Each “cheat sheet” includes the correct answer for each question listed.

We know what it takes to pass. And we’ve got the proof.

Driver’s Ed is - nobody wants to set foot inside the DMV. That’s why millions of learners trust us for simple, visual, effective prep.
