Free Online DMV Written Test Practice for Oregon (2025)
Welcome to our second Oregon Permit Practice Test! We designed all our permit practice tests to help aspiring drivers like you pass the Oregon DMV written knowledge test. Like the official knowledge test, these practice tests are also based on the official Oregon driver’s manual (Oregon DMV Handbook (OR Driver's Manual) 2025), and their passing score is also 80%. This second Permit Practice Test has 20 multiple-choice questions. You must choose the best or most complete answer for each question. This test includes questions on changing lanes, emergency vehicles, motorcycles, parking, pavement markings, the right-of-way, road signs, and turns.
Watch the Progress Bar to keep track of your score thus far. When you get a question right, the question number will turn green. If you miss a question, the question number will turn red. As you take this practice test, our AI Assistant will be available to help you whenever needed. If you get stuck on a question, ask the AI Assistant to elaborate or give you a hint. You can also ask it your own questions about driving. If you still miss the question, the AI assistant will provide you with the correct answer and an explanation. Not satisfied with your final score? You may retake this practice test as often as you wish until you’ve mastered the material.
We also have two PDF “cheat sheets” (not for actual cheating, though!) for you: “The Top 100 Most Common US DMV Questions” and “The 121 Most Common US Road Signs Questions.” You will probably encounter some of these questions on your official 88written test. Each “cheat sheet” includes the correct answer for each question listed.
In Oregon, if you’re under 18, you must obtain an instruction permit to practice driving under supervision, and passing the official knowledge test is a key requirement for a permit. If you’re at least 18 years old, you must still pass the knowledge test for a license. However, an instruction permit is optional should you need supervised driving practice. You may take the drive (road) test immediately after passing the knowledge test if you feel ready for it.
Concerned that something unforeseen might go wrong on the day of the permit test? We also offer our own Oregon Permit Test Study Guide on important things you should do as the day of the big exam approaches. It covers what documents to take, what fees you may have to pay, how to stay relaxed yet alert on the test, and frequently missed test questions.
