TN DMV Written Test Simulator – Study Online 2025
Planning to take a scenic drive through the Great Smoky Mountains via the Newfound Gap Road? Or savor the vistas from the Cherohala Skyway? Or commute to work in Nashville, Memphis, or Knoxville in your own car? Great! But if you don’t have a driver license, you’ll have to depend on others to drive you everywhere. Not good.
To get a license, you must first obtain a learner permit so you can practice driving. To do this, you must be at least 15 years old and pass a vision screening and the official DMV 30-question knowledge test. The passing score for the knowledge test is 80%. You should study the official driver’s manual (Tennessee DMV Handbook (TN Driver's Manual) 2025) because the knowledge test questions are based on it. But if that’s all you do to prepare for the knowledge test, you can’t be sure of passing it. (Nearly 60% – more than half – of applicants fail the DMV knowledge test on their first try.)
