TX DMV Written Test Simulator – Study Online 2025
Once you get a driver license, you’ll find that driving in Texas offers endless possibilities.
Whether you’re looking for stunning vistas to savor, bustling cities to tour, or booming industries to which you’ll drive to work, Texas has it all, as befits a state this huge and diverse.
To obtain a driver license in Texas, you must meet a series of requirements, including passing three main tests: a vision exam, a 30-question knowledge test, and a driving test. You must pass the vision and knowledge tests to qualify for an instruction permit to allow you to practice driving.
Some aspiring drivers think that to pass the permit test, all they have to do is read the official driver’s manual (Texas DMV Handbook (TX Driver's Manual) 2025) a few times shortly before the exam. But many of them end up failing the test.
We’ve always known that failing is a real possibility without adequate test preparation. Therefore, we provided you with interactive test preparation tools to help you learn and memorize all the information you need to pass the knowledge test.
Our audiobook version of the official manual allowed you to listen to the text of the manual, even while performing other activities at the same time. Our other Texas practice tests dealt with all the topics addressed by the manual, such as the rules of the road; the meanings of road signs, traffic signals, and pavement markings; and techniques for safe driving. To help you learn, we provided you with our automated assistant, which could give you a hint for a tough question or an explanation of the correct answer. We hope you used these tools to the fullest, studied hard, and gradually got ready to take the official knowledge test.
Now it’s time to see if you really are ready for whatever the DMV throws at you!
This Exam Simulator test is designed to closely resemble official exam conditions: The test consists of 30 questions based on the official manual, just like those on the official Texas DMV permit test. The passing score is 70%, just like the official permit test. There are no hints or other tools to help you answer the test questions. The test is as close to the official permit test as we can make it!
Plus, if you tend to experience test anxiety when taking official tests, then this Exam Simulator, by showing you just what to expect on the official test, may even help alleviate it.
Good luck!

Here's an inside look at how we maintain the highest quality in our practice tests.
Content Creation and Verification Process
- Alignment with Official Manuals:
Every question we develop is based on the most recent version of each state's official driving manual. Our team regularly monitors each state DMV's website for the latest updates to ensure our practice tests are always aligned with the most current information. - Community Feedback Integration:
We leverage feedback from our vast community of users to understand which topics are most frequently tested. This helps us focus on the areas that are most relevant and beneficial for your preparation. - Expert Content Creation:
Our in-house editor, Steven, who has extensive experience in driver education, crafts each question with precision. He conducts a thorough review of each question against the official manuals to ensure accuracy. - Rigorous Review Process:
Once Steven has finalized a set of questions, our team conducts a joint review session. This second level of scrutiny involves content accuracy, proofreading, and fact-checking to eliminate any errors. - User Feedback Mechanism:
After a question goes live on our site, we keep the lines of communication open. Each question features a feedback button, inviting users to report any issues or errors. This continuous feedback loop allows us to address and rectify any concerns promptly. - Responsive Updates:
In line with our commitment to accuracy, we quickly update our practice questions to reflect any changes in the DMV manuals. Additionally, we update the free electronic copy of the state's driver's license manuals on our site, typically within a few days after the DMV publishes them.
Our thorough quality control process ensures that you have access to practice tests that are as accurate and up-to-date as possible. We believe in the power of well-prepared drivers and are dedicated to providing you with the best study tools to help you succeed on your DMV exam.
