Idaho has instituted a graduated driver’s license program. To start, you’ll need to pass a written knowledge test that consists of 40 multiple-choice questions based on information from the 2026 Idaho Driver’s Manual. You’ll need to answer at least 34 of the 40 questions correctly in order to receive your permit or license. If you’re under 17, you must hold a permit for six months before you may take a road skills test to receive your license. To get your permit, you’ll need to first complete a driver’s education program before you may take the knowledge test, as well as provide an approved form of identification, proof of residence, as well as a signed parental consent form and proof of school enrollment if you are a minor, and pay the applicable fees. The written exam will cost $3 each time you take it, plus a $15 fee for your instruction permit; additional fees apply when you’re ready to graduate to a driver’s license, such as a $24 fee for the driving test, and you’ll pay a $15-25 fee for the physical license. This DMV practice test will help you pass the real exam on your first try, as it is based on the same information and has questions written in the same style.

Use this third set to check fresh wording around emergency situations plus highway driving
This set changes the question mix again, with extra practice around emergency situations plus highway driving. Use it after the first two tests so you are not just recognizing earlier wording.
Based on the categories assigned to this third practice test pool.
Use this third set to decide whether you need more rule review or exam-mode practice.
This is one of the main areas in this test pool, so review it before taking another timed test.
Most score jumps come from understanding the rule behind the missed answer, not from rushing another set.
Move to a mixed, exam-style session only after your practice scores stop swinging.
