Nevada DMV Fines and Limits Permit Practice Test 2025

  • Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and senior refresher test

Have you been studying the rules of the road and Nevada’s traffic laws to pass the official knowledge test for an instruction permit? OK! Have you taken some of our other practice tests to help reinforce what you’ve learned? Great! But now, we have something a little different for you.

This free Nevada Fines and Limits permit practice test is mostly about the official penalties you may face if you violate the rules of the road or other traffic laws. These practice questions are among the hardest you may encounter on the official knowledge test. They also serve to warn you that violating the traffic laws can have serious consequences.

This practice test is up to date as of October 2025. The 50 questions on this practice test are based on Nevada’s official driver’s manual (Nevada DMV Handbook (NV Driver's Manual) 2025) and the Nevada Revised Statutes.

Most of the questions and answers on this practice test are about the DMV demerit point system and the offense of driving under the influence (DUI). There are questions on the length of a license suspension for driving while impaired by alcohol, and how this depends on the driver’s age; the penalties for first or subsequent convictions for driving under the influence (DUI); the length of time that a DUI conviction remains on your driving record; the number of points added to your driving record for such common offenses as speeding, tailgating, running a stop sign, and leaving the scene of an accident; and the number of points on your driving record that can lead to license suspension.

As with all the permit practice tests we offer, each question on the Nevada Fines and Limits permit practice test comes with an optional hint and an explanation of the correct answer, courtesy of our automated assistant.

In Nevada in 2021, there were 360 fatal crashes involving 385 fatalities, including 86 motorcyclists and 80 pedestrians. The four most frequent contributing factors in these crashes were impaired driving (167), lane departure (152), intersection (118), and speed related (103).

In Nevada in 2022, there were 585 drivers involved in fatal crashes, with 416 traffic deaths. 140 of these deaths were alcohol related (alcohol concentration 0.08% or higher); 105 of the deaths were speeding related.

Violating the traffic laws doesn’t just invite administrative or criminal penalties. It also risks a serious accident.

Good luck with your instruction permit test, and please drive safely!
