In Nevada, you must pass three official tests (and meet some other requirements) to obtain driving privileges: a vision test, a knowledge test on driving theory, and a skills (road) test. The vision and knowledge tests are also required for an instruction permit to practice driving under supervision. You may take the knowledge test online or at a DMV office. If you are under 18, you must obtain an instruction permit before taking the skills test. An instruction permit is not required if you’re at least 18 years old, but you can get one to practice supervised driving if you need to. If you choose not to obtain a permit, you cannot drive until you pass the skills test.
Here is our fourth Nevada Permit Practice Test. Its purpose is to help aspiring drivers like you pass the DMV knowledge test. Just like the official knowledge test, this practice test is based on the Nevada DMV driver’s manual (Nevada DMV Handbook (NV Driver's Manual) 2025).
You can start this practice test right now. Please read the first test question and its answer choices. Select the best or most complete answer. Our AI Assistant can help you anytime during the test. If you’re unsure of the correct answer, ask the AI Assistant to provide a hint or discuss the question in greater depth. You can also ask it your own questions about driving.
Watch the Progress Bar to keep track of your score as you proceed through the test. When you get a question right, the question will turn green. If you miss a question, the question will turn red, and the AI Assistant will give you the correct answer and an explanation.
One thing we can’t give you is a list of the specific questions (and their correct answers) that you’ll encounter on your official knowledge test. To assemble a knowledge test, the DMV selects questions randomly from an extensive list of candidate test questions – and only they know which ones they’ve picked out for you. Still, we can give you a good idea of what to expect on the knowledge test. In our experience, our practice test questions have resembled the official knowledge test questions. In addition, we’ve created two downloadable PDF “cheat sheets” (quick references you can consult at any time): “The Top 100 Most Common US DMV Questions” and “The 121 Most Common US Road Signs Questions.” It’s a safe bet that some of these questions will appear on your knowledge test. Each question listed comes with the correct answer. Try to memorize as many of these questions and answers as you can.
