NY DMV Written Test Simulator – Study Online 2025
New Yorkers always seem to be in a hurry. Perhaps this is why the official DMV knowledge test for a learner’s permit has only 20 questions. The questions are based on the official driver’s manual (New York DMV Handbook (NY Driver's Manual) 2025). The passing score is 70% for the entire test and 50% for the four questions on road signs. If you incorrectly answer seven questions or three road sign questions, you will fail the test. (You can retake the permit test on the next business day.)
