Oregon residents may not pay sales tax, but getting a driver’s license requires paying some dues. We’re not talking about breaking the bank here. However, you will need to understand rules of driver safety that go beyond the basics. If not, you’ll be missing the forest for the trees (and you’ve got plenty of those). You need to channel your inner Paul Bunyan and chop down those obstructions. Are you ready to become a real trailblazer? There is an innovative resource ready to help forge your path.
Like many standardized tests, the Oregon driver’s license knowledge test has some questions that may trick you into providing a wrong answer. Don’t take it personally! There are 15 questions on the knowledge test commonly missed by Oregonians. Oregon requires you to answer 80% of the 35 questions correctly to be awarded a license. This requirement means you’ll have to get on the stick and start studying because there isn’t much room for error. You’ll need to get familiar with the road signs and traffic laws on which the knowledge test is based.
Our free Oregon DMV Diagnostic Driving practice test is based on the most recent Oregon driver’s manual (Oregon DMV Handbook (OR Driver's Manual) 2025) and up to date as of October 2025. The advantage of the practice test is that it better prepares you for those complex or confusing questions that may leave you stranded. The practice test includes questions like the ones on the official test that are commonly missed. While study guides provide you with the answers to the test questions, the practice test goes a step further. If you submit a wrong answer, the practice test provides feedback that includes a detailed explanation of the correct answer. This approach makes the practice test a more efficient use of your time and increases your chance of passing the knowledge test on the first attempt. In addition, a clear understanding of the information will benefit you on test day and every day you drive.
Is one practice test not enough? For anyone who is an eager beaver, there are practice tests for the entire nation at https://driving-tests.org/academy/drivers-license.
