West Virginia DMV Fines and Limits Permit Practice Test 2025
Our free West Virginia Fines and Limits permit practice test will help you pass your instruction permit test and avoid legal trouble on the road. This special permit practice test focuses on the possible consequences of driving offenses. It is up to date as of May 2025 and is based on West Virginia’s official driver’s manual (West Virginia DMV Handbook (WV Driver's Manual) 2025) and the West Virginia Code.
The 50 questions and answers on this practice test address issues like these: If you are arrested for driving under the influence but refuse a secondary chemical test for alcohol at the police station, how long will your license be revoked? What fines, loss of license, and other penalties are imposed on a 21-year-old driver who is convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) for the first time or a subsequent time? How about for a driver under 21 years of age? (Try to memorize these fines for your instruction permit test.) Can you be charged with DUI even if your blood alcohol concentration is below the legal limit? How many points are added to your driving record for such common violations as tailgating and failing to yield the right-of-way? Finally, what are the minimum required coverages for vehicle liability insurance, and what are the penalties for driving an uninsured vehicle on public roads?
Violating the traffic laws doesn’t just incur administrative or legal penalties. It also puts you at increased risk for an accident.
In the United States, about 37 people die in alcohol-related crashes every day. That works out to about one fatality every 39 minutes. About 28 percent of all traffic deaths involve alcohol-impaired drivers. In 2022, there were 5.93 million traffic crashes. 13,524 people died in traffic crashes in which alcohol consumption was a contributing factor.
In West Virginia in 2022, there were 262 traffic fatalities, including 42 motorcyclist fatalities and 21 pedestrian fatalities. 353 drivers were involved in these fatal crashes. 21 of the persons killed were under 21 years of age. Alcohol impairment was a contributing factor in 60 (23 percent) of the 262 fatalities.
This Fines and Limits permit practice test illustrates some of the serious consequences that can flow from violating the traffic laws.
