About the Wyoming learner permit

Wyoming requires you to answer 76% of the 25 questions correctly on its driving knowledge test to receive an instruction permit or driver’s license. The test will assess your knowledge of traffic rules and safe driving practices. You should know that some questions can be as rough as a bucking bronco. There are 8 questions that most Wyomingites typically miss and can spell the difference between passing and failing the knowledge test. These questions are worded in ways that can confuse you and make you second-guess your answers. If you want to leave no doubt in your ability to pass your knowledge test, you should rustle up some reliable assistance.

Our free Wyoming Diagnostic Driving practice test will provide you with the training and confidence necessary to pass the official knowledge test on the first try. It is based on the Wyoming DOT driver’s manual (Wyoming DOT Handbook (WY Driver's Manual) 2025) and is up to date as of December 2025. The practice test is more effective in preparing you for the official test than using a study guide. Study guides only tell you half of the story. They are limited to helping you memorize the answers to the questions. The practice test will help you assess your readiness for taking your official test. If you submit a wrong answer, the practice test will provide a detailed explanation of the correct answer. This approach helps clear up any misunderstanding of the information that supports a correct answer. You’ll avoid guesswork and be on your way to becoming an expert driver.

If your trail ride takes you off the beaten path, you can find practice tests for other U.S. states and Washington D.C. at https://driving-tests.org/academy/drivers-license.
