In 2024, Phoenix experienced a record-breaking heat wave with 113 consecutive days over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The state of Arizona often sees extreme heat, especially during summer months. While high temperatures have a significant impact on our well-being, your vehicle’s performance is also affected. Navigating Arizona’s roads can be a challenge for beginners who lack behind-the-wheel experience. However, with enough preparation, you’ll be able to handle these difficult driving conditions.
The official written knowledge exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and is available to persons at least 15 years and 6 months old. Applicants must pass a vision test, provide at least two forms of identification, pay the $7 permit fee, and obtain signed parental consent if they’re under 18. You must use up-to-date materials when preparing for your driver’s license. Our Arizona MVD permit practice tests are regularly updated (most recently for February 2026) to reflect the latest changes brought by MVD rules or state law. Each practice test is similar to the official written knowledge exam. You must answer 40 multiple-choice questions based on the official Arizona driver license manual (Arizona DMV Handbook (AZ Driver's Manual) 2026). Practice as many times as you need to master the various aspects of driving theory and build confidence.
