New Mexico Permit Practice Test Four 2026
Avg. first-try score: 60%
Perfect for:Learner’s permit applicants
First‑time adult applicants
In New Mexico, if you’re under 18 or have never driven before, you must obtain an instructional permit to practice supervised driving before taking the road test for a driver’s license. One crucial requirement for an instructional permit is to pass a knowledge test on driving theory. If you’re under 18, you must also provide signed consent from a parent or guardian. You must also be enrolled in or have completed a driver’s education course offered by a state-approved provider. You must complete the entire course (including driving practice) before you apply for a provisional license.
You may take the knowledge test at an MVD office or your driver’s education course provider if they offer it. All questions on the knowledge test are based on the official New Mexico MVD driver’s manual (New Mexico MVD Handbook (NM Driver's Manual) 2026).
You should study the manual as part of your preparation to pass the knowledge test. Unfortunately, many aspiring drivers have read the manual but failed the knowledge test anyway. Something more is needed.
