Test your knowledge with our Wisconsin DMV Road Signs practice tests. You don’t have to wait until the day of the exam to know if you’ve got what it takes to become a licensed driver in the Badger State. Each practice test consists of 25 questions based on the Traffic Signs section of the official DMV driver’s handbook (Wisconsin DMV Handbook (WI Driver's Manual) 2026). To pass, you’ll need to score at least 80%, but there’s no rush in selecting an answer. Although the official exam will be timed, we have omitted this aspect from our practice tests. You also benefit from unlimited attempts, allowing you to train as often as you want.
Is the text too small? Simply open the test settings window from the top-left corner of the screen and change the font size. Students who have an echoic memory can make good use of the voiceover feature. Once activated, an artificial voice reads the questions and answer choices aloud. However, the image representing the road sign will not be described by this feature since you’re also expected to drive with your eyes open!

In Milwaukee and Madison, drivers often face heavy traffic during peak hours. It is crucial to arm yourself with patience and obey all traffic laws even when the roads are congested. In contrast, rural areas provide open roads with scenic routes, making the countryside an ideal place for road trips. Conditions can be quite challenging during winter when snow and ice make driving dangerous. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) handles road maintenance brilliantly during the winter months, but beginner drivers must navigate these conditions with the greatest caution.
“Ice on Bridge,” “Road Closed,” “Reduced Speed Limit,” and “Flooding Risk” are some of the road signs you’ll often see in Wisconsin. It is crucial to memorize their meanings and understand their significance, not only because it’s needed to pass the written knowledge exam, but also because it makes driving safer when you face these conditions as a licensed driver.
We know what it takes to pass. And we’ve got the proof.
