In Georgia in 2022, there were 384,527 total traffic crashes, including 1,844 fatal crashes involving 1,982 fatalities. 2,773 (0.7%) crashes involved pedestrians. 127,986 (33.3%) crashes involved a driver under 21. There were 15,494 (4.0%) confirmed and 158,850 (41.3%) suspected distracted driving crashes. 52,871 (13.7%) crashes involved a driver who left the scene of the accident (hit and run), and 23,811 (6.2%) crashes involved speeding or aggressive driving.
4,604 (1.2%) crashes involved a driver under the influence of alcohol, and 2,656 (0.7%) crashes involved a driver suspected of being under the influence. 2,150 (0.6%) crashes involved a driver suspected of being asleep or fatigued. 1,494 (0.4%) involved a driver suspected of using drugs.
