In Georgia, you’ll need to pass the official DDS written knowledge test to get your license. The test has 40 multiple-choice questions in two sections – Road Rules (20 questions) and Road Signs (20 questions). You must score at least 75% on each section independently.
The test is offered at your local DDS Customer Service Center, where you’ll pay a $10 permit fee, take a vision test, and provide proof of identity (and school attendance if under 18).
If you fail, you can retake the next day on your second attempt, after a week on your third attempt, or after 30 days on your fourth. Each retake costs an additional $10.
This Georgia DDS practice test is current for May 2026 and based on the 2026 Georgia Driver’s Manual. It will help you study for both sections of the real exam so you can pass on your first attempt.

Use this second set to check lane changes and passing plus sharing the road after the first permit practice test
This page is online practice, not the official DDS exam. Use it to check lane changes and passing plus sharing the road, then confirm the current GA testing option before relying on an at-home exam.
Based on the categories assigned to this second practice test pool.
Treat this as a second read, not a repeat of the first practice test.
This is one of the main areas in this test pool, so review the rule before another scored attempt.
Test 2 changes the question mix so you can separate understanding from memorized answers.
Use Test 3 to confirm that lane changes and passing plus sharing the road no longer pull your score down.

We mirror recurring themes (e.g., right‑of‑way traps, sign look‑alikes) and use similar distractors and wording styles.
We don’t collect or publish actual test items and we’re not affiliated with DDS.
