Free Nebraska DMV Written Test Study Guide 2025

  • Perfect for learner’s permit, driver’s license, and Senior Refresher Test
  • Based on official Nebraska Driver's manual
  • Triple-checked for accuracy
  • Updated for October 2025

In Nebraska, earning your learner’s permit is the first step toward becoming a fully licensed driver. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) oversees this process. Aspiring drivers must provide identification documents, pay the application fees, pass a vision test, and pass a written knowledge test. If you have held a School Learner’s Permit (LPE), School Permit (SCP), or Learner’s Permit (LPD) that is valid or expired for no longer than one year, the written test may be waived.

The official written knowledge exam consists of 25 multiple-choice questions. You must answer them within a time limit and score 80% or higher to pass. The DMV publishes the official Nebraska Driver’s Manual (Nebraska DMV Handbook (NE Driver's Manual) 2025), which all aspiring drivers should read at least once. As you begin your learning phase, it is crucial to adopt a systematic approach and avoid rushing. Practice tests can enable active learning and help you gradually improve your knowledge over time. When you incorporate efficient tools into your study routine, it is easier to master driving theory.

Our Nebraska DMV Written Test Study Guide practice test consists of 20 questions based on the official driver’s manual. There are multiple answer choices, but only one is correct. This intuitive tool closely reflects the content and format of the official written knowledge test, allowing you to simulate the actual testing experience without the pressure of a countdown. You get unlimited attempts and 24/7 access to practice as often as you want.

If you answer a question incorrectly, we will automatically add it to your personal Challenge Bank™. This section includes the questions you previously got wrong, letting you identify areas that need improvement. Questions in the Challenge Bank will remain there until you answer them correctly.

Becoming a safe and responsible driver in Nebraska takes time and effort. We’ll help you learn driving theory efficiently by providing intuitive tools designed to boost your learning potential. Stay consistent in your training, and you’ll see your knowledge gradually improve over time.

We know how Driver's Ed goes

The material is dry. Studying it is tedious. And you don't want to step foot inside the DMV. So you dread it, avoid it, pretend it doesn't exist. Or you go to the DMV and shoot your shot. You walk in. Take a number. Then the number takes your soul.

Noses sneeze. Babies cry. Frustration groans. And when it's finally time to take your test, you're sweating. Thirty minutes later, you're crying. Because despite your best efforts. You failed. Next thing you know, you're chasing a Waymo in circles to get home (embarrassing!).
That ends here.
At Driving Tests, we know emotions can get in the way of doing what you need to do. So we deliver Driver's Ed that makes it easy to start, and even easier to finish. We get you DMV Smart ASAP. Testing you with real, up-to-date questions. Backing up tricky driving situations with easy-to-grasp visuals & engaging practice tests that reaffirm what you know, and test you again on what you don't. So by the time test day comes - you *own* the DMV. Your only worry? Convincing the proctor you didn't cheat ;)
