If you’re interested in obtaining a driver’s license in Virginia, you’re probably aware of the official written knowledge exam. This test has two parts: one part on road signs and the other on general driving knowledge. To pass, you must answer all road sign questions correctly and score 80% or higher on the general driving knowledge exam. If you’re under 18 and fail the exam, you must wait 15 days before retaking it. Adults can try again as soon as the next business day. After three failures, completion of the classroom portion of a Virginia-approved driver training school program is necessary regardless of the applicant’s age.
