Alabama DMV Practice Permit Test 2026
Avg. first-try score: 82%
Perfect for:Learner’s permit applicants
First‑time adult applicants
In Alabama, all aspiring drivers must pass three official tests before they can become eligible for a driver’s license: a vision exam, a knowledge test on driving theory, and a road skills test in which they will perform various driving maneuvers for a test examiner. If you’re under 18, you must first earn an instruction permit (for which the vision and knowledge tests are key requirements) unless you are married or the head of a household. The permit will allow you to practice driving while supervised. If you’re 18 or older, an instruction permit is optional if you need more supervised driving practice. You can take the road skills test as soon as you feel ready for it.
This is our fourth Alabama Permit Practice Test. Like our first three permit practice tests, we created it to help aspiring drivers like you pass the Alabama knowledge test. If you’ve already taken those first three practice tests, then you know that these practice tests are multiple choice. Each question comes with several answer options. You must choose the best or most complete answer. Just like the official knowledge test, these practice tests are based on the official Alabama driver’s manual (Alabama DMV Handbook (AL Driver's Manual) 2026), and their passing score is 80%.
