An individual who is 16 or 17 years old must take a commercial driver’s education course, a secondary school driver’s education course, or do home training. Regardless of the type of training, the individual must receive 30 hours of study that covers topics from the CT Driver’s Manual and safe driving practices, as well as 40 hours of behind-the-wheel training.
